THOMAS C. JACKSON
Born in 1950 in Rock Island, Illinois, Thomas Jackson received his B.A. from Western Illinois University in 1972 and his M.F.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1974. Jackson taught art at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, IA and worked in marketing for 20 years before becoming a full-time artist in 2000.
Jackson has exhibited his artwork in over 100 solo, invitational, and juried exhibitions judge by museum curators and gallerists from California to New York, and Israel and Mexico. In 2007 Jackson had a major solo show of his photographs, drawings, and paintings at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa. He had a solo show of recent paintings at the Dubuque Museum of Art in 2008; and a solo show of his photography, American Narratives, at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art in Cedar Rapids, IA in 2009.
Jackson continues to explore the unusual side of Americana imagery in photography, painting, and most recently, ink brush drawing.
